Meet the Doctor
Dr. Edward Fritz is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He is a graduate of the prestigious Hawken School, The College of Wooster, and Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry.
Early Career
Following his dental education, Dr. Edward Fritz began his career as a Captain in the United States Air Force stationed at Williams AFB in Arizona from 1978 until 1981. He immediately fell in love with Arizona, and after his discharge from the Air Force, he began his private dental practice, New Health Dental, in Mesa. In 1995, Dr. Edward Fritz began his Dental Assistant training school, Chairside Dental Academy, at the same location.
Continuing Education
Dr. Edward Fritz has always looked to improve his knowledge and techniques by searching out the very best clinicians and dental education facilities throughout the country and the world. He has studied at the L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, and attended courses offered by some of the best clinicians in the dental field, such as Pete Dawson, Dick Barnes, Howard Farran, David Hornbrook, John Witzig, Skip Truitt, and many others.
Dr. Edward Fritz believes there is no teacher like experience, and has learned through his own dental experiences the importance of determining the underlying cause of dental problems through a comprehensive analysis of all the factors involved. The best example of this is his emphasis upon orthodontic conditions as a causative factor in many complex dental situations. It is this integration of many different areas of dentistry that gives him the ability to diagnose and treat complex dental conditions in a more accurate way, leading to more long-term, successful results than could otherwise be achieved.
Professional Affiliations & Organizations
Dr. Edward Fritz's professional affiliations include the American Association for Functional Orthodontics and the International Association for Orthodontics, the L. D. Pankey Institute, and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. Dr. Edward Fritz terminated his affiliation with the American Dental Association many years ago because of his disagreement with their position supporting the use of dental mercury amalgam fillings, and their ongoing persecution of dentists who do not agree with their position. It is his opinion that the health and well-being of his patients are more important than any professional bureaucracy.
Community Involvement
Active in the community, Dr. Edward Fritz has been on the Advisory Board of Sunshine Acres Children's Home for many years. He is a past member of the Mesa Optimists Club and the Elks.
An accomplished classical pianist, Dr. Edward Fritz also enjoys movies, reading, tennis, martial arts, cooking, oriental food, his dogs, and most of all spending time with his son, Mason.
