The benefits of dental veneers in Mesa AZ

Dental Veneers in Mesa AZ from Dr. Edward Fritz

Do you ever flip through magazines smile shopping, looking at the different models thinking about your dream smile? Here at New Health Dental we can help make your dream smile a reality.

Very few people naturally have teeth that are perfectly shaped, even, and brilliantly white. For most people, the perfect smile requires a little to a lot of dental work. Many patients can achieve the smile of their dreams with porcelain veneers.

Porcelain veneers can be used to make a number of changes. Some of the issues they are commonly used to address include:

  • Stains – While most of the time discoloration can be addressed with whitening treatments some stains tend to be resistant. Veneers can cover the discoloration giving you beautiful white teeth.
  • Chipped or cracked – When teeth are noticeably damaged but do not need a crown veneers can be used to both cover the damage and strengthen the tooth.
  • Spacing – When teeth are crowded or gapped, but do not require orthodontics, veneers are a good option to give them the appearance of proper alignment.
  • Shape – When teeth are too small or misshapen veneers can also be used to give them a natural appearance.

THE PROCEDURE

This procedure requires two appointments. During the first appointment, Dr. Fritz will start by verifying that veneers are the best option for you. He will also discuss the changes you want to make to your smile. This will include the issues like tooth size, shape, color, and spacing. He will also take impressions of your teeth. The impressions, along with the information regarding changes you want to make, will be used when fabricating your veneers.

The second appointment is when your veneers will be placed. Dr. Fritz will start by ensuring that they fit properly and are the correct shape and color. Once he is satisfied, they will be permanently bonded to your teeth.

YOUR OPTIONS

He offers both no prep and traditional veneers. The no prep are extremely thin and do not require any of the tooth’s surface be removed to accommodate them. Due to the fact they are so thin, they are not always the best choice for teeth with dark stains. Traditional veneers are thicker, so dark stains don’t show through. Due to their thickness, a thin layer of tooth enamel will need to be removed to accommodate them. Dr. Fritz will discuss both options with you so can decide what is best for you.
